House Rules and Community Guidelines
Welcome to Casa De AUM, a space for peace, mindfulness, and community! We are delighted to have you here and appreciate your respect for our shared space. Please review the following house rules to ensure a harmonious environment for all.
General House Rules
Quiet Hours:
Quiet hours are observed between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Please keep noise to a minimum to maintain a restful atmosphere. You can always step outside (the front side of the house) to talk. There is no house curfew.
Respect for Others:
This is a shared community. Be mindful of personal space, and treat others with kindness, respect, and consideration.
Participation:
We encourage participation in community activities, yoga classes, and workshops to fully immerse yourself in the experience.
No Smoking, Alcohol, or Drugs:
This is a substance-free environment. No smoking, alcohol, or recreational drugs are permitted in the house.
Kitchen Etiquette:
The kitchen is a shared space. Clean up after yourself immediately after cooking or eating.
Wash all dishes, utensils, and cookware you use and return them to their proper place.
No meat or fish permitted in the house.
Common Areas:
Please keep all common areas (living room, dining space, bathrooms) clean and tidy.
Personal belongings should be kept in your assigned space, not in communal areas.
Bedroom Guidelines
No Shoes Indoors:
We ask that no outdoor shoes be worn inside. Please bring indoor slippers as needed for comfort.
Personal Belongings:
Store your personal items in the designated space provided. Your room is your responsibility to upkeep. There will be one common, sweep and changing of sheets every Sunday.
Respect Your Roommate:
If you are sharing a room, be mindful of your roommate’s privacy and comfort.
Bathroom Use
Cleanliness/Saucha:
Wipe down surfaces after use and leave the bathroom as clean as you found it.
Water Conservation:
Please be mindful of water usage when showering or washing.
Laundry
Laundry Days:
Laundry facilities are available locally. Bed sheets will be changed Sundays.
Safety
Doors and Security:
Always lock doors when leaving or entering the property. House doors stay unlocked until night time. Safety is a shared responsibility.
Community Guidelines
Communication/Ahimsa:
Open and respectful communication is encouraged. If you have a major issues with a fellow house mate or teacher, request a sit down with that person plus 1 teacher (3rd party must be present)
Digital Detox Encouragement
We encourage minimal use of digital devices in communal areas to foster connection and mindfulness.
Visitors
Advance Permission Required
All visitors to the ashram are subject to host approval and limited to non-quiet hour
No Overnight Stays
Visitors are not permitted to stay overnight unless they are registered and approved as paying guests. Unauthorized overnight stays are strictly prohibited.
Shared Space Etiquette
Visitors are welcome to join guests in common areas only (such as the living room or garden). They are not allowed in sleeping quarters.
Visitors must respect the ashram’s quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Substance-Free Environment
Visitors must adhere to the no smoking, alcohol, and drug policy while on the premises. Guests are responsible for ensuring their visitors respect this rule.
Respect for Spiritual Space
This is a sacred and mindful environment. Visitors should be made aware of the need to maintain silence or low volume in designated areas and respect ongoing yoga, meditation, or spiritual practices.
Guest Responsibility for Visitors
Guests are responsible for the behavior and actions of their visitors. Any damage, disruption, or violation of house rules by a visitor will be the guest’s responsibility.
Kitchen Use
Visitors are not permitted to use the kitchen facilities or share in community meals unless otherwise approved. Guests should ensure their visitors do not consume communal food or supplies.
Visitor Limit
Each guest may bring only one visitor at a time, unless approved by the host.
Large gatherings or additional visitors require special approval and must align with community guidelines.

Participation in excursions and workshops is optional but highly encouraged to deepen your experience.
